Body of Knowledge (BoK), in general, is a term used to represent the complete set of concepts, terms and activities that make up a professional domain, as defined by the relevant professional association. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_of_Knowledge for a discussion and links to efforts.

  • Since it was convened in 2002, the ONTOLOG community has been using this Collaborative Work Environment (CWE) as a Dynamic Knowledge Repository (DKR as Doug Engelbart would call it) to amass a Body of Knowledge (BoK) for the Ontology, Ontological Engineering and Semantic Technology domain(s).
  • The Spatial Ontology CoP (SOCoP) has also started their SOCoP_BoK endeavor, followed by a SOCoP_BoK2 effort as well.
