Mattia Santoro

Mattia Santoro is a Ph.D. student in Methods and Technologies for Environmental Monitoring at the University of Basilicata, Italy. He obtained a degree in computer science at the University of Florence, Italy. He has been working at the Earth and Space Science Informatics Laboratory (ESSI-lab) of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) since 2007, coordinated by Dr. Stefano Nativi. His research interests are semantic discovery, environmental models interoperability with a particular focus on the GEO/GEOSS initiative. He has contributed to, and published in various international journals, conferences and workshops in the field of multi-disciplinary inter- operability of Geo-spatial resources. He was a member of the Global Earth Observation System of Systems Architecture Interoperability Pilots 2, 3, 4, in the working groups addressing applications for water, biodiversity and drought, and is now member of the phase 5 working on the GCI Research activity.
