Maria Hedblom
Maria has a Dr.Eng. in cognitively-inspired artificial intelligence and a M.Sc. in cognitive science. Her primary scientific focus lies on computational creativity and semantic for AI. More concretely her work centres around the notion of conceptual building blocks called image schemas that exist at the intersection of linguistics, psychology and AI. Her work includes ontological specification of image schemas and spatiotemporal primitives to improve semantic problems for knowledge representation in formal domains. She has been active at the University of Magdeburg, Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and is currently employed as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bremen working on commonsense reasoning for artificial agents and cognitive robotics.
