Giorgio Ubbiali

I am a Ph.D student in the Philosophy Department “Piero Martinetti” (Human Mind and its Explanations (HUME): Language, Brain, and Reasoning) at the University of Milan (UNIMI) and a doctoral fellow at the International Center for Food Ontology Operability Data and Semantics (IC-FOODS).

My current areas of interest are ontology and sustainability of food systems. Through a transdisciplinary approach spanning biology, philosophy, and informatics, I design strategies to support food systems stakeholders in developing ontologies and related resources to deal with the sustainability of the systems they belong to.

Previously, I completed an II level Master's (Postgraduate Specialization and Advanced Professional Training Course) in Sustainability at the University of Milan-Bicocca (2020-2021). Earlier, I graduated from the same university with a double Master’s degree in genetics and biology (2018-2020), offered in partnership with the University of Paris-Cité (Magistère Européen de Génétique), and a bachelor’s degree in biology (2015-2018).
