Abby Santos

I graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Engineering. After spending some time in a lab researching cells and building bioreactors, I decided to get a job in the software and data space and got a job soon after graduating as a taxonomist for a labor market company in my area called Lightcast.

I now work as the Director of Taxonomies for Lightcast and work with my teams to develop labor market taxonomies (e.g. Occupations, Skills, Job Titles, etc.). I’m interested in learning more about the ontology space as we transition our products from pure taxonomies and controlled vocabularies to ontologies.
