Imran Khan

Imran Khan currently works as Innovation Project Leader and leads the work on the design and specification of data and information management architectures in Schneider Electric. The goal is to solve interoperability challenges and to leverage the abundant information available in multiple business units (BUs) of the company to provide energy efficient solutions. This work focuses on the data generated/exchanged by the embedded devices, products, solutions, and systems. Within Schneider, he is a sub-domain leader focusing on the use of Ontology & Semantic Web technologies in the company. He promotes these technologies within the company and works with different BUs to help them formalize their domain knowledge to solve their unique challenges. In this role, he actively seeks collaborations and knowledge exchange with academic and industrial partners as well as standardization groups working on Semantic Web and Ontologies.

Before joining Schneider, Imran has been a researcher in Wireless Networks, IPv6, Wireless Sensor Networks, IoT, and Cloud Computing domains since 2006. He received Ph.D. degree from Institut Mines-Télécom, Télécom SudParis jointly with Paris VI (UPMC) in 2015. During this time, he was a collaborating researcher at Concordia University, Montreal and lead a CISCO project. In the past he conceived & worked on several international R&D projects sponsored by French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2009), Internet Society (2010), ITEA2 (2011-2013), and H2020 (2012-2015). He is an IEEE member and has also contributed to the IETF standardization activities.
