Stefano Nativi

Stefano Nativi is Coordinator of the Earth and Space Science Informatics Laboratory of the National Research Council of Italy. Adjunct Professor of "Systems for land management" at the University of Padua. Expert on multi-disciplinary interoperability and cyber(e)-infrastructures for Earth Sciences. Research and operational experience in the fields of Geospatial Information, Earth Observation, and international standardization. He is co-chair of the GEO Science & Technology Committee and lead of the European Team of the GEO Standard and Interoperability Forum ([[EuroSIF]]). He is president of the Earth and Space Sciences Informatics (ESSI) division of the European Geosciences Union (EGU). He is member of the INSPIRE Drafting Teams for Metadata and Data Specification: Atmospheric Conditions & Meteorological geographical features. He was recipient of the SIF Award medal appointed by the IEEE ICEO for the work done to advance GEO-GEOSS multi-disciplinary interoperability. Mattia Santoro has a Master degree in Computer Science at the University of Florence (Italy) in 2008. In 2009, he started the PhD "Methods and Technologies for Environmental Monitoring" at the University of Basilicata (Italy). The topic of his PhD thesis is environmental model interoperability contributing to GEOSS Model Web development. Since 2007 he has been working with the Earth and Space Science Laboratory (ESSI Lab) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR), coordinated by Dr. Stefano Nativi. He was involved in GEOSS AIP-2 and AIP-3 development. Presently he co-leads the Activity 2 (Clients and Mediated Components) of the GEOSS AIP-4. ... (source)
