  • review and adopt agenda

2. Roll Call:

3. Discussions:

    • going over the summit theme and description - http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?OntologySummit2009#nid1Q2F
    • meeting agrees the description looks fine, and suggest possibly tweaking with the following:
      • Peter P. Yim: could we slip in standards to be unstood by both humans and machine
      • Leo Obrst & Fabian Neuhaus: representing standards in a logical language allows for them to be expressed precisely, unambiguously and allow for automated consistency, validity checks etc.
      • Peter Benson: beware of the use of "information" - let's mull over this on the [ontology-summit-org] list
        • Peter Benson & Peter P. Yim: maybe the original tag line: "Ontologies as the Next Generation Standards" is actually better
  • getting ready for the OntologySummit2009 community-wide planning meeting today - ref. ConferenceCall_2008_12_18
  • who are on our Organizing Committee and Advisory Committee?
    • terms of reference explained
    • defer discussion to the next organizing committee call
