Ontology Summit 2021 Launch
Ontologies are a rich and versatile construct. They can be extracted, learned, modularized, interrelated, transformed, analyzed, and harmonized as well as developed in a formal process. This summit will explore the many kinds of ontologies and how they can be manipulated. The goal is to acquaint both current and potential users of ontologies with the possibilities for how ontologies could be used for solving problems.

Discussion
[12:41] John Sowa: These issues are not new. Lexicographers have known them for over a century.
[12:41] John Sowa: Formalization will do *nothing* to harmonize different uses of the same words..
[12:42] John Sowa: Stating formal definitions will do *nothing* for people who don't know, never read, or never will read the formal definiions.
[12:43] John Sowa: Safe assumption: 99.9% of the people who enter data have never read the formal definitions.
[13:05] DrRaviSharma: Great talk by Ram, Gary-Alex (too formal!) and Leia
[13:13] DrRaviSharma: Alex - no because it is my math that has to improve, you are fine!
[13:15] AlexShkotin: John, It would be great to discuss on ontolog-forum.
[13:16] AlexShkotin: Thank you Ravi!
[13:17] DrRaviSharma: John and Ken discussed the need for Lexicographer in our participants.
[13:18] DrRaviSharma: purpose intension where humans are great
[13:26] ToddSchneider: Will all the slides presented today be made available on the web page for today's session?
KenBaclawski: Yes, they will all be on the meeting page.
[13:28] DrRaviSharma: Ram explained how thought and action are possibly connected to Neural aspects and AI is also related and is addressing it, also in terms of intelligence and semantics? May be my observation is not complete?
[13:31] ToddSchneider: I've been letting the IOF participants know about the summit.
