    • Jeff: Navy related work ... would look to meet some of the folks here during ISWC2009
    • Terry: working on an Air Force project
    • Yavuz: from KenBaclawski's research group ... also on Ken's Web Services (REST and SOAP) class which will be using the OOR-sandbox

    • OOR-sandbox server install - who/when
      • Peter: support needed from one more party (besides NCBO and CIM3) to help quickly install the updated version of BioPortal as an updated next OOR-sandbox instance, on a x64 virtual machine (at the CIM3 tier-1 colocation facility) some time next week
        • Peter: CIM3 will have the vm ready after this weekend
        • Ken: I'll put one of my (NEU) students Tejas Parikh onto this
      • Natasha: there should be documentation that will guide the installation
      • Peter: we'll coordinate and document this on [oor-dev]
        • Natasha will email Ken Baclawski, Mike Dean & Peter P. Yim on the installation instructions off-line
        • the OOR team will post the instllation instructions later to the wiki after modifying and extending it as an OOR installation guide
  • Ken's classes: (for information only)
    • Ravi asked if course material is available online - Ken responded that they are online (Ken's site has a lin to it.)
  • SOCoP collaboration
    • Led by Nancy Wiegand, they have submitted a grant proposal to the NSF INTEROP program, in which collaboration with OOR is among one of the key aspects
    • SOCoP is also drumming up a closer collaboration with Ontolog Forum
    • SOCoP will be hosting a full-day workshop at MITRE (Washington DC Area) on Monday 12-Nov-2009 [errata]
      • Ontolog might participate as a co-organizer and contribute to making the workshop available to remote participants
    • SOCoP is also running the "Terra Cognita" workshop at ISWC2009 on 26-Oct-2009 afternoon - see: http://asio.bbn.com/terracognita2009/
    • (2009.10.02) no news on the results of the NSF funding proposal yet (Frank confirms)
  • Ontology Summit plans
    • Steve and Peter reported that we would want to have a idea about Ontology Summit 2010 before we go to ISWC2009 (Oct 25~29, 2009)

    • Peter / Michael / Ken: other possibilities for co-organizers include; besides NIST ... IAOA, FOIS, NEU
    • (2009.10.02) Steve: symposium venue at NIST pretty much ok ... tying down who from NIST will be our sponsor.
    • (2009.10.02) Peter: IAOA just committed to be a core co-organizer for Ontology Summit 2010 and beyond
    • (2009.10.02) Steve / Leo / Peter; we'll need to have some planning meeting(s) after October.
  • FOIS 2010 is going to be at Toronto University (MichaelGruninger will be the local chair) - see: http://fois2010.mie.utoronto.ca/
    • Calling for conference papers, and for the two workshops (one of which is on Modular Ontologies, which is very relevant to the current OOR work)

    • (2009.10.02) Michael: KR conference (and others) also colocated ... FOIS will have joint sessions with them
  • OOR Outreach
    • ISWC 2009:
      • Todd and Ken have produced a poster that has been accepted by the ISWC2009 conference.
      • Ken and Todd have written a paper that has been accepted by the CK2009 Workshop at ISWC "Workshop on Collaborative Construction, Management and Linking of Structured Knowledge". The paper deals with OOR requirements and research challenges.
    • Semantic Web meetings.
    • OMG collaboration.
      • Ravi Sharma will be contacting Cory Casanave, Elisa Kendall and Evan Wallace regarding OMG related ontology repository efforts. There could be interest in a joint OMG-OOR panel meeting in the Ontolog Forum. We need to determine what they are doing.
    • (2009.10.02) BOF meeting for OOR folks
      • Leo: how about an informal lunch? ... Todd: or evening
        • Leo & Mike already have a commitment for Thursday
      • Ken will champion this get together ... thanks, Ken!

    • Ken Baclawski submitted an proposal to STCI, jointly with Peter P. Yim and MikeDean.
    • Peter P. Yim is involved in proposals that have OOR as one aspect, to the INTEROP and STCI programs with Mark Musen
    • Carlos Rueda has submitted a proposal that has OOR as a key aspect.
